Becoming a key part of the mining tech stack

Connec is aiming to disrupt an initial $4.4 +bn target market by enabling significant gains for operators across the areas of productivity, safety and sustainability.

The company has developed a high voltage coupler system for industrial cables which it considers a game changer in a sector that has only seen a little innovation in decades.

Incumbent coupler products can be dangerous, are inefficient and lack key capabilities like data transmission, while Connec’s solution is lighter, safer and can detect faults, handle more power and be switched out in a fraction of the time.

The company recently gained global industry attention from Fortescue, Glencore, Komatsu and other large operators observing a test of Connec’s data transmission capability at Sojitz’ Crinum Mine, leading to paid trials and accelerated sales orders.

Connec believes it is now becoming a key part of the tech stack for the future of mining – looking at a pipeline of projects of up to $250m+.

Connec Directors Kim Manley and Murray Woolcock will discuss how they are unlocking electrification and big data for the mining industry with their “world first” technology.
