Some information about placements
A placement is a method used by companies to raise funds by offering new shares or securities to a select group of investors. Usually taken up by institutional investors, sophisticated investors, or existing shareholders, unlike public offerings, placements have a shorter offering period and allow the company and investors to negotiate the pricing and structure of the offering.
Placements are often exempt from the requirement of preparing and lodging a prospectus with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). However, companies and participants still need to comply with relevant regulations.
