Jim Rogers

Investor and Financial Commentator

Jim Rogers is an American investor, financial commentator, and author. He is best known for co-founding the Quantum Fund with George Soros in 1973, which generated annual returns of over 40% during the decade they managed it. Rogers attended Yale University and Oxford University and worked on Wall Street before co-founding the Quantum Fund.

Rogers is a strong advocate for investing in commodities and emerging markets. He has written several books on investing and is a regular contributor to financial publications. Widely respected for his investment acumen, Rogers is recognised as a pioneer in the field of global investing.

John Forwood

Chief Investment Officer, Lowell Resources Fund

John Forwood is a qualified geologist and lawyer with 25 years of resources financing experience, including 20 years as a junior resources fund manager of the Telluride Investment Fund and subsequently the Lowell Resources Fund. He also has five years’ experience in exploration and development geology in Australia, Tanzania and Indonesia, and has previously qualified to practise as a barrister and solicitor. Mr Forwood currently oversees the Lowell Resources Fund (ASX: LRT), an ASX-listed equity fund managed by Lowell Resources Funds Management. It is one of the few investment funds offering focused exposure to the junior resources sector across Australia and global stock exchanges in both unlisted and listed companies.

Graham Howard

Geologist and Non-Executive Director of VP Minerals

Graham Howard has 35+ years’ of senior management experience and was previously Managing Director of development ready, $1.5 billion NPV rare earth and critical minerals company, VHM Limited. Graham has held former significant roles in major projects such as Boddington (Newcrest), Telfer (Newcrest) and the Silangan Copper Gold Project in the Philippines, delivering projects from concept to feasibility and from construction through to operation.

Roscoe Widdup

Portfolio Manager, Triple 8 Capital

Roscoe Widdup co-founded T8 Capital and has deep experience of the financial investment industry. He spent eight years with Goldman Sachs, including five years in its Asset Management Division as an investment manager responsible for mining and energy stocks within the division’s $7 billion Australian equities portfolios. He has also worked at Rio Tinto as a financial analyst and at Ernst & Young in the Risk Advisory Services Division.

Patrick Nelson

Managing Director, Reach Markets

Patrick has over 20 years of financial markets experience. In 2005, Patrick founded and managed a successful stock broking, corporate finance, funds management and trading education business until departing in June 2018 to start Reach. Patrick founded Reach with the goal of creating a simple way for companies and investors to REACH each other – using technology to reduce a company’s cost associated with attracting and engaging with investors and raising capital; while helping to improve the quality of investors’ decisions and their access to opportunities.

Gavin Lockyer

Managing Director & CEO, Arafura Rare Earths Limited

Gavin joined Arafura in 2006 as Chief Financial Officer after previously holding several senior finance and treasury positions in global mining companies including Newcrest and Newmont following a successful international investment banking career in Australia and London.
Gavin’s diverse, global experience has provided management and leadership opportunities in a range of disciplines including; Accounting,
Financial & Investment Banking, Major Resource Development & Operations, and Global Bank Treasuries. Over the past 20 years his career has exposed him to business practices in North America, Europe, and Australasia.
