Westgold Resources Limited (ASX: WGX) is a purely Western Australian gold producer from its three gold operations in the Central Murchison region of Western Australia. Westgold produces 250 – 300,000oz per annum ranking it as the 7th largest domestic gold producer in Australia.
In recent years, Westgold has shrunk its operational diversity to be purely gold and purely in the Murchison region where it essentially controls the historic gold mining centres over 250 kilometres of strike. Westgold has three processing plants operating over the region with a combined capacity of more than 3.5 million tonnes per annum. The company is unique in the sector, being the only major gold miner who operates its own mines through its underground and open pit mining services division.
It’s Murchison operations are backed by a 9 million oz+ resource base and a 2.6 million oz+ mining reserves which underwrite 10 year mine plans for its three processing hubs.
