James Davies
Executive Chairman - Kiland Limited (ASX: KIL)
Kiland owns ~18,600 hectares of prime agricultural land on Kangaroo Island which it is remediating from forestry to sheep farming following the 2019-20 bushfires. The company has moved to convert its 4.5 million tonnes of fire-damaged timber into ~900,000 tonnes of biochar which could potentially produce 1.8 million Carbon Removal Certificates (CRC). Kiland anticipates the carbon removal project to be the world’s largest biochar project and expects to realise in excess of $55 per CRC (based on recent and comparable CRC sales). As at 30 June 2022, the company had $48.3 million in net cash and in November 2022, announced on-market and off-market buy backs of 5.62 million and 4.56 million shares respectively.
Kevin Bailey
Executive Chairman - Po Valley Energy Limited (ASX: PVE)
Po Valley Energy is an emerging gas producer with over 20 years experience and a portfolio of natural gas fields in northern Italy. The company operates the high-priced Italian domestic gas market where, as at August 2022, 92% of gas consumed needed to be imported. Po Valley Energy was the first exploration and production company to bring new production to the Po Valley region since the end of the ENI-Agip monopoly in 1998. The company has development-ready onshore gas assets and regulatory approvals in hand and expects to capitalise on market dynamics with a focus on domestic energy security.
