TechGen Metals completes maiden drilling program

Western Australian gold and copper explorer TechGen has completed its maiden RC drilling program at its El Donna project area.

Western Australian gold and copper explorer TechGen has completed its maiden RC drilling program at its El Donna project area.

The company began the drilling on April 5, initially drilling to a depth of 150m.

In total, TechGen drilled 11 holes at two sites within the El Donna project area – eight at El Donna 7, and another three at Star Prospect.

The company has submitted 373 composite samples taken from these holes to be assayed for gold.

TechGen Executive Technical Director Andrew Jones, said the target areas were chosen following 3D modelling of the region’s bedrock mineralisation and historic drilling results.

That modelling work has been steadily undertaken since 2019, when the company acquired the project.

When the program commenced on April 5, Mr Jones said the company was happy to get the drilling underway.

“In line with our planned exploration program, we are excited to have commenced our maiden RC drilling campaign at El Donna,” he said.

Although the work represented the first drilling in the area in 15 years, historic drilling of the site identified highly mineralised intercepts from 36m depth

Drilling completed one week after float

The completion of the RC drilling work comes only a week after TechGen began trading on the ASX under the ticker code ‘TG1’.

Shares in the company rose after the float, closing at $0.29 – a 45% increase on its $0.20 IPO price.

The company has since continued to trade around that price, briefly hitting 37 cents per share on April 8 before easing back. It closed at 28 cents on April 14.

TechGen’s IPO brought in $6 million (the maximum amount being sought) and closed early and heavily oversubscribed.
