Coles, Wellnex Life ink new distribution deal for innovative gummy products

Supermarket giant Coles has confirmed plans to sell two of Wellnex Life’s innovative nutritional supplement gummy products across its national chain of stores.

Supermarket giant Coles has confirmed plans to sell two of Wellnex Life’s innovative nutritional supplement gummy products across its national chain of stores.

Under the terms of the deal – inked last week – Coles will range Wellnex Life brands Wakey Wakey and The Iron Company, which represent caffeine and iron gummy products respectively.

The deal will also encompass Wakey Wakey’s effervescent caffeine products.

Both brands are fully-owned by Wellnex Life and already sold in pharmacies nationwide through Chemist Warehouse, Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API), Symbion, and Terry White Chemmart.

Commenting on the news, Wellnex Life CEO George Karafotias said he is delighted to work with Coles.

“These national retailer commitments to range give Wellnex great confidence that we are producing and bringing to market health and wellness products that are in demand and address clear consumer needs,” he said.

“Wellnex is continuing to grow its current portfolio of brands, products and distribution channels to drive revenue growth and improve margins.”

The first round of manufacturing for these brands has already been completed, and delivery of the product is tipped for October this year.

Notably, The Iron Company’s range of slow-release iron gummies with vitamin C represent an Australian first, and follow on from similar success launching Wagner Liquigesic products earlier this year.

Under the Wagner Liquigesic brand, a joint venture with Australia’s largest retail pharmacy chain Chemist Warehouse, Wellnex Life manufactures and sells Australia’s first paracetamol liquid soft gel products.

These products, alongside Wakey Wakey and The Iron Company, demonstrate Wellnex Life’s core strength of being first or fast to market with new and innovative health and wellness products.,

A funky bunch of supplements

Last month Wellnex Life inked a separate deal with Hollywood leading man Mark Wahlberg, to distribute his Performance Inspired brand in Australia and New Zealand.

Performance Inspired manufactures a broad range of all natural sports and nutrition supplements, and was founded by Wahlberg, alongside sports nutritionist Tom Dowd, after he became frustrated trying to find good tasting, effective, all-natural supplements.

Under the terms of the deal, Wellnex Life has exclusive rights to distribute the range of supplements both in Australia and across the pond, as well as first rights to expand the license into Asia.

Since launching in 2015, Performance Inspired has gone on to become one of the fastest growing nutrition brands in the USA.
